Calling all Creative People
At the end of July we are planning to have an arts and crafts exhibition at St Augustine’s church, linking creativity with spirituality. So if you are someone, or know of someone within the church community, who would be willing to exhibit some of your/their work and share a few thoughts on how talent and spirituality combine please contact either Pat on 779975 or Hazel on 773911.
St Augustine's Open day - Saturday 27th March
We will be holding an Open Day in conjunction with the Dodderhill History Project. The Church will be open from 9.45 am, and at 10 am walkers will set out on an escorted version of the Dodderhill parish walk, a circular route around what is still the civil parish and was until the late 19th century the ecclesiastical parish of Dodderhill. After they return at around 1230 the tower will be open until 3pm, Barbara Middlemass will give a talk on John Corbett at 1pm and Mike Wall will discuss the history of the Church at 2pm. A special treat will be a chance to look at the early 19th century tithe map, which could be described as the hidden treasure of St Augustine’s. Even if you don’t feel up to a walk or climbing the tower this is worth a good look!
